Is destiny developed by choice, or chance?

I believe in destiny. I believe we make our future, but I also believe that some superior unknown energy plays a significant role in the lifes we live, in where we are in particular moments and in the judgement we make in different circumstances. Destiny is the mistakes people make in their life all put into a hat, mixed around and picked at random. People confuse bad decisions with destiny, but when it comes down to it, is our destiny determined by our choices or by the chances we take? "It is not the stars to hold our destiny, but in ourselves". We will all go through a different path in life and this path is created by our free will and the chances we are willing to take. Every person, moment and belonging leaves a mark in our lives and these are at times found thanks to destiny and other times thanks to our actions. Each and every one of us has a chance to decide our destiny, we just have to be willing to fight for it and to believe in ourselves. We're all capable of the extraordinary, we're just not capable of letting go and going for it. If we only get one life, why should we waste it waiting for destiny to do the job when we're more than gifted to change our own lives? What's to stop us from doing what we love and what we truly believe in? There's no point sitting around waiting for things to happen so get off your ass, and start changing your life. No one else can do it for you.

Trust [truhst]- Reliance on the integrity, strength, ability, surety of a person or thing.

 I think we're all capable of looking up and understand the literal meaning of words. But what do they really mean to people and to friends? Saying "I trust you" doesn't take much. Three words, three syllables, that's all. I'm not sure what people think of trust and why it's so underrated. You say you trust someone yet you're not willing to believe them. You say you have faith in someone but you still need proof of what they're saying. Is it our own giulty minds that stop us from purely trusting something? Is it because we can't be trusted that it makes us wary of others? I don't know anymore. I trust a lot of people and I hope they feel the same about me but lately it seems like trust is just another word that's thrown around like love that no one actually takes seriously. They say that being trusted is a greater compliment that being loved, but why does it take one small, insignificant lie or wrong word to break it? Surely if you trust someone, a small casual misstatement shouldn't be the thing to stop from believing in them. I understand when it's serious dishonesty, but at times people are so scared of getting hurt that they give up on trust as soon as they see a difficult situation. Without trust, there is nothing. No love, no friendship and no happiness. I think the problem is that we trust people to be who we want them to be instead of who they are and when they're not who we want, we are upset.

Summer....

I'm extremely upset that summer is over. It's the season to relax under the sun, to feel pretty with no make up on, to get a tan, to fall in and out of love and for new experiences... It's the season in which you meet new people and places and from which you obtain a lot of memories. I'm sad it's over and I have to say this summer was awesome! Two weeks in my beautiful Rome. 40 degrees, great food and spending time with my lovely family and friends and then on a cruise in the gorgeous corsica for two weeks with friends friends and more friends! Absoulutely amazing! I loved every day of it and I've gained some special memories and a very nice tan! I'm sure the memories will last longer than the tan :) I hope everyone had a fab summer and I can't wait for what summer 2012 will bring. But before I can think about that, three other seasons must go by and a lot of studying must be done. I'm sure we'll get through these seasons and we will profit of some good memories. As long as you have your friends and family around, nothing can go wrong. Loveeee

Education or the start of a prison sentence?

I love to study, I always have been a bit of a dork. I've always enjoyed doing homework and neatly writing out my notes in 100 different coloured pens. Unfortunately, when you reach college this becomes a different story. Of course I still enjoy learning and believe it to be the only way in which humanity can survive and expand their knowledge on how this world works and why we've been put here (even though I believe we will never know how our planet works... that's the beauty of it). The problem is that in college (in particular) they make you feel like if you don't get perfect grades NOW then you're doomed to work in a low paid, low expectation job for the rest of your life when actually, to succeed in life you need more than some letters and numbers on a piece of paper. They are ready to bring you down telling you you're already a failure and that you won't go anywhere in life. Rather depressing I would say... But really, you make your future. Fate, destine and all that stuff plays a role in this big film called life, but the main character is you. I'd like to add that we're 16-17 so we're not sure of anything. We're not sure what colour vans to get, let alone what area of law we want to go into! This is the time to think things through, to change your mind and to make mistakes.. not the time to make lifechanging, important decisions. Let's leave that to when we're ready, right?

Life in multicolour

I'm happy there's colour in my life, how dull would it be all in black and white? I like black and white movies and grey scale pictures, but thanks to colours, our lives are more exciting. Just a random thought that came to my head...

There's always pizza... Hmmm

Men are from earth and woman are from earth, some men are just dogs.

The problem with us women is that we'd rather settle for someone not completely worthy than feel lonely. If men were the same they would definitely understand what it feels like when you find out what a real player is like. Unfortunetely they are very much the opposite so for them, if a girl won't give him some when he's horny and bored alone on a saturday night, he'll just look further down his contact list and try again, and again, and again. Until obviously, being in the 21st century, he'll find a girl with no self respect that's ready to put out. The thing is that we say these people are not going anywhere and they'll never find love, but they're the ones who are happy and don't have to worry with being upset and depressed when a relationship or whatever goes downhill. They're the ones that in 10 years will still be living the life of a 25 year old instead of for once trying to be less adolescent and actually think of what their actions make people feel like. The most annoying thing is that you usually try and defend them and say "oh no, he's different, he truly loves me" bla bla bla when actually, deep down, you know you're bullshitting yourself. Girls, we are not the exception, we are the rule. No use dreaming about film or book love because that stuff happens to 10% of us. And no, it won't just happen one day while you're reading the daily paper, you won't just magically find your Mr. Right in the school/work caffé and he won't serenade you telling you you're the one he's been looking for. And lastly, he won't turn out to be a sexy and mysterious vampire. Sorry, but Edward Cullen doesn't exist. But love? Yes that does, otherwise what are we all doing here?
